Harriet’s February Blog

Hi everyone, welcome back to our blog!

February seems to have flown by so quickly! Unfortunately, this month wasn’t our most exciting. I spent the first half trying to ride as much as I could before I went away for half term; however this was hard due to frozen ground or it still being too dark!

When I got back, Murphy and I enjoyed lots of hacking with friends, to increase his fitness. Murphy definitely enjoyed whizzing about! Unfortunately our planned show jumping clinic was cancelled due to a frozen school and a lot of snow, which was very disappointing. The weather seemed to beat us again!

Later on in the month we went showjumping at BCA college. We were very grateful to get there as the car didn’t start, but we made it in the end, and I am so happy we did! The 80cm Dengie Qualifier was one of our best rounds yet, we had a lovely double clear and I think we are nearly ready to progress to compete at 90cm.

However, towards the end of the month the snow returned and once again it was impossible to ride, thank goodness Spring is on the way. The main lesson learnt this month was to keep on persevering even when things make it hard for you to compete. Do what you love and don’t give up!
