Lucy RL's February Blog #teamlikit

LucyRL Feb1This month has been a great month for Roly, Fred and I, we have enjoyed getting out and training with friends and we have been promoting the Likit products and wearing our gear!

We started off with the BRC team show jumping where I was a member of the Junior Team. It was a very popular competition as it was a qualifier for the BRC Novice Winter Championships so lots of teams from different clubs attended. Fred jumped really well and it was very exciting to discover that our team was joint second on jumping penalties but were placed third overall due to time faults, meaning we just missed out on qualifying, but we were all very thrilled anyway!

I attended two indoor Cross Country sessions with Fred this month in preparation for the upcoming eventing season! We had a super time at both Attington and BCA jumping a range of water treys, skinnies, arrowheads and more!

I had an amazing Show Jumping lesson with Lucy Jackson during my half term, I was so pleased with Fred who jumped really well and flew round some big courses! I loved hearing Lucy’s feedback on our rounds and she gave us some fantastic exercises and warm up techniques to use when we are competing.

LucyRL Feb2Roly had his moment to shine when he was bathed and plaited up and got to wear the Likit Rug to go to his half term party! As you can see from the photo he has been desperate for his time in Freds Likit rug!! I am so pleased with Rolys dressage, despite the fact he is turning 19 this year, he still loves learning and has mastered his flying changes and he is working really well at home and still loves going out and about! He has also taken a liking to the molasses flavour Likit which appeals to his sweet tooth!

At the end of this month I had the great fortune of having a fantastic ride on my neighbours amazing dressage horse Mondo! He showed off lots of his party tricks and I practiced my half passes, one time changes and many more movements with him! It was incredible to feel Mondo’s powerful paces and it gives me something to aim for with Fred in the future!

All of the horses have been enjoying their Likits and with the horrible weather, storm Dorris and all of the mud they are having to spend lots of time in their stables. However with their Likit toys they are entertained for hours on end and I have started to feed Fred some of his pasture nuts in his Likit Snak-a-ball to keep him occupied.
