It was a quiet month for Ted and I with just to events to attend. June saw the start of the Pony Club area 7 qualifier events in many disciplines. The begin with, we headed over to the beautiful venue of Moreton Morrell College for the annual pony club area 7 dressage. Ted and I had done plenty of training in the run up to the competition for both the novice warm up and the novice test. The day started with with me being slightly worried on how Ted was going to behave in the tests because our warm up test was on grass where he is usually the most relaxed however the proper test was in the indoor arena which in previous competitions Ted has found very spooky! The warm up test was a huge success finishing in 6th place and straight after we had to head over to the indoor warm up ready for the qualifier test. To my surprise Ted was absolutely amazing considering the tense atmosphere of the indoor arena, the silence was so tense but it let me concentrate even harder on my riding. My parents waited outside in suspense but when I left the arena they could tell by the huge grin on my face that it had gone very well! We finished in 6th place individually just missing out on qualification but I was very happy with him! Next we headed to a venue a long way away which held the anual area 7 pony club show jumping qualifier, it was my first time competing at novice level for the areas in a team so I felt some pressure to do well. It began in a uneven arena with some spooky fences and difficult turns. Ted flew round and took everything in his stride finishing clear. The second round which included some full up fences and even more spooky fillers did not put Ted off either however finishing with an unlucky pole and our team just missed out on the placings due to time :( After a successful month for Ted and I he still enjoyed being rewarded with his favourite snaks and treats along the way!
