Mia's January Blog

January took a rough start for Ted and I after he spend a week resting with a touch of lameness much to our disappointment we couldn't ride for a whole week! However Ted came fighting back stronger than ever ready for the first competition of the year.

January took off with Prelim 4 at Weston Lawns, Ted warmed up like a dream and made me feel more confident about our test than ever! We entered the arena and I could tell that the test was going to be a success. After our final salute I patted and praised Ted for his effort, now it was just time to wait for the scores and results to come in. With 69.54% ... Mia Brindley! We were over the moon with our final result and it gained us a second place. Along with the dressage test there was fun arena eventing happening at the same venue so after a quick tack and outfit change we were ready to go! Ted galloped around the course like nothing was in his way! I was so pleased with the day and we enjoyed it so much.

Down came the snow the following weekend meaning not competing for me and Ted :( But we instead had lots of fun in the snow! From the minute I turned Ted out, the look on his face was so shocked like he had never seen it before! But after he had figured out what it all was I spotted him licking it off the fence posts!

Next came super arena eventing at Dallas Burston Polo club, show jumps followed by a course of cross country jumps in a 2.4 acre arena, it's sounds like fun... And of course it was! We both really enjoyed ourselves and galloped at full speed round the whole thing! I really recommend it for anyone who is looking for the ultimate amount of fun and not long now until the next one in February!

To top what has been a really successful month, Ted and I along with our 6 team mates, Grace and Eddie, Ellie and Rhonagh and Lucy and Ollie attended the BRC area points show at Moreton Morrell college. All of us did extremely well and Ellie even got into the jump off but together our team finish 1st!! We were so shocked and over the moon with our result! I was really proud of my team and our results.

Inbetween all of our competitions, Ted and I did lots of training in January to ensure we are prepared for the upcoming season! Ted asked me if he could take a selfie with his all time favourite Likit product, I agreed to do it when he loaded so we could show Likit how much Ted loves being rewarded with their treats when he loads well!

So January was a great month for Ted and I and we are really looking forward our February events, including: BRC dressage Champs qualifiers and more Super Arena Eventing. I hope you all had as much fun as I did in January!
