February took of to a flying start for Ted and I with Super Arena Eventing at Dallas Burston Polo Club, with experience from the previous month we were raring to go clear and inside the time. Ted was amazing warming up as usual and I entered the ring with so much determination which definitely payed off, we flew round the course (which included some very spooky jumps) clear and inside the time which I was so pleased about! We ended up finishing 9th out of 40 riders and bringing home a beautiful rosette! Half term came as the perfect time to attend some training rallies, so we went show jump training at Onley Equestrian where Ted was a complete Angel as always, our instructor really pushed us and ended up jumping a huge course and Ted definitely proved to me that he really enjoys jumping big!Vale View was the destination of the following weekend for prelim 18, I went extremely prepared and warmed up in the calm outdoor arena for a good hour ensuring he was perfectly prepared for the test but disaster struck when we entered the indoor arena! Ted seemed totally freaked out by all off the distractions around him and however much I tried he would not communicate! After what I felt was one of the worst tests I had ever done my score of 63.54% came as a shock as I thought we had done much worse but I still wasn't pleased with the score overall. :( However the end of the month lightened up for us as we had a new addition to the team... A lorry! The end of February held some last dressage lessons before our area Dengie rounds and first event of the season which I am super excited about! Wish me luck! Mia Brindley #teamlikit
