This month Fred and I have done less competing than normal because sadly I have my GCSE mock exams in January, however we have had lots of fun together getting into the Christmas spirit! I started off the month by heading to BCA to do some dressage with Roly and my mother’s horse Harry! They were both very good and we think that it was Harry first ever dressage test and he took it all In his stride. It was lovely to cross over again with Flo Carter and meet the wonderful Judith! A highlight of mine and Freds December was meeting Harry Meade and having a lesson with him! The lesson was focused on jumping and we did some really technical exercises which left us with lots to practice and work on at home. Harry was really lovely and it was so interesting talking to him about show jumping, and working on particular, on the perfect strides, turns, lines and angles to fences. We also had a super time doing Dressage to Christmas music with Susie Pilbeam just before Christmas! We dressed up in tinsel and Christmas jumpers and Fred and I had so much fun! I have also done some jumping with Fred at home and some bear back with him! Roly and I also had a great start to the hunting season with a lovely day out hunting together! Both horses enjoyed their festive Candy Cane Likits on Christmas Eve and I made Fred a Stud Muffin and Likit Christmas Cake which he enjoyed on Christmas day! I hope everyone had a very Happy Christmas with their horses and I hope everyone has a very happy 2017! Lucy, Fred and Roly!
