Wow, these past two months have flown by! November was a pretty quiet month with not much to report on competing wise, unfortunately the Christmas period flew by too quickly for mine and Ted's liking. I started December regularly hacking out and hiring venues to really concentrate on maintaining Ted's fitness levels through the tough winter months. Our first December event was a Christmas dressage competition where the competitors were allowed to dress up! I attempted to cover Ted in shining tinsel making him look like a gleaming star however reality struck upon me and he wouldn't tolerate the distractions of rustling noises around his ears resulting in him shaking of his outfit! We ended up entering the arena with some Christmas themed polo wraps and my Christmas pudding hat silk remaining still attached to us! Despite the distractions in the warm up we gained a 68.6% in the Prelim 19 class placing us in 4th place!
The following week myself and two friends along with our mums attended Olympia London International Horse Show which I was buzzing for. The day was amazing, we shopped till we dropped, enjoyed all the different displays and we even met Mary King at the Joules stand! Having a break over the Christmas weekend prepared us for the Pony Club Dengie Show Jumping competition held at Solihull Riding Club. Ted was buzzing and I couldn't have asked for him to be any better! Through the entire day he was an absolute dream! In the 85cm class we went clear with a great time unfortunately we just missed out on the individual placings (less than a second), however our team of 4 got placed second which we were all extremely proud of! In the following class of 90cm Ted unfortunately clipped one pole gaining us 4 faults however he jumped amazingly through the rest of the course. Finally we attended a Trailblazers qualifiers competition, in the warm up Ted felt a little tense and wasn't listening to me as much as I would have hoped but I worked on it until he felt much better. As entered the ring I felt him tense up once again the indoor arena was full on terrifying fillers that I could tell he was unsure about but I pushed on putting my faith in him and considering it was the biggest round that we have done together to date he jumped superbly and made me very proud! Through the weeks of December I have found myself constantly refilling all of Ted's Likit toys, he plays with them for hours on end and it has become a normality in the morning for me to find that he has emptied his toys through the night. In my application video I mentioned that Ted has trouble loading but over time and particularly this month I have noticed the situation improving each time to the point where recently he walked straight on with no trouble at all! I was over the moon and I realised it is all thanks to the rewards from Likit that I give him when he walks onto the trailer. We are huge huge fans of everything Likit we are so proud to promote Likit treats every time we compete! Happy New Year! Mia Brindley and Teddy #teamlikit
