As the winter months are becoming a reality and dark nights are becoming a reality I am still determined to exercise Teddy most nights after school. The highlight of my month is definitely receiving all my Likit Brand Ambassador goodies! When the day finally came, I received an exciting email to let me know that my Likit boxes were going to arrive and they were due to be delivered just as I had planned to leave for my weekly Pony Club training rally! Luckily, I managed to catch the postman at the last minute before I had to leave! As soon as I arrived home I eagerly looked inside the boxes to see what was in them and a rush of excitement overcame me! Teddy and I are so lucky to have received so many treats and accessories from Likit and we are so grateful!
I was so excited to try out all of our new gadgets and goodies with Teddy! A few days after receiving the package our horses started their stabled life for the winter months which was going to mean that boredom was going to hit them hard, I began to gradually introduce Ted to the new toys as I didn't want to overwhelm him with so many exciting things all at once. I started with the Snak-a-Ball, filled with Likit Snaks, Ted was entertained for hours! I couldn't believe how skilful he was with it and by the morning every single Snak was completely gone! I then realised that the ball was a great hit with him and as I am writing this blog I can guarantee that he will be rolling it around his stable hunting for the Likit treats. A few days after, I introduced Ted to the Tongue Twister with his favourite flavour Little Likits inside and in no time the Tongue Twister was nearly empty! I have recently refilled it with the Banana flavour Little Likit which was a new flavour to Ted and it has been a huge hit! Amongst all of the new toy excitement, Ted and I have competed every weekend of October!
Starting with the 10th of October after being transformed from a fluffy mammoth to a sleek coated handsome gelding, Ted and I travelled to Solihull Riding Club to compete in the Pony Club Dengie Winter League prelimery rounds. After a positive warm up Ted strutted his moves around the arena gaining us 66.60% which I was extremely pleased with and we were placed 2nd and qualified for the second rounds in March.
The following weekend we entered our local hunter trial, which didn't go so well, so after the months I have had Ted I have learned that he is not a big fan of ditch jumps therefore after making it over the first one with a little hesitation we were then faced with a wide ditch with some scary black logs in front which proved too scary for Ted however we continued around the course and made it over the finish line!
Next was the first weekend of us competing in our flashy new Likit gear! We competed in the 2ft9 and 3ft Arena Eventing classes at Weston Lawns and through our classes the heavens opened and we got drenched! But despite the Great British weather I was extremely pleased with how Ted went and we came home with fourth place from the bigger class!
Finally the most recent weekend, we travelled all the way to Moreton Morrell college for the British Riding Clubs Area 5 winter show jumping competition. After one unlucky pole in the first round, we began the second round determined to go clear in the spooky indoor arena and to our delight we did! Only us and one other combination went clear in the second round therefore I was so proud of Ted and we came home with another fourth place!
Next month I am hoping to compete in a couple of dressage classes and our Pony Club are holding another Dengie dressage qualifier so fingers crossed for that! Another update next month!
