Just in case you have been living on mars for the last few weeks, we have been running a competition to find five talented riders from the UK to join #teamlikit. The application process requested that each rider send in a video telling us a little about themselves and what would make them a great ambassador for the Likit brand. We were absolutely overwhelmed with the response and received over 70 videos in total! Likit then picked two riders to be fast-tracked onto the team with the remaining three places being chosen via public vote from our shortlist of ten riders. To view all the finalists visit our youtube channel.
Eden-Maia was one of the lucky two riders to be picked personally by Likit and fast-tracked into #teamlikit. We were super impressed by her obvious talent as well as her lovely outgoing personality. She has an enviable team of two dressage horses, including her lovely black ex driving pony called Sebastian who Eden-Maia trained herself and is now competing at Elementary Affiliated Level as well as her newest mount, a beautiful horse called Cash who is trained to Prix St George level and who will be helping Eden-Maia to make the big leap into horses. At just 13 years old Eden-Maia is a true talent and we look forward to supporting her this year.
Freya captured all our hearts from the moment we saw her video and we just had to have her on our team! We absolutely loved how passionate she is about the Likit brand having experienced first hand how beneficial our products can be when her horse Immi was injured. We are delighted that Immi has made a successful recovery and look forward to following her as she and Freya hit the showjumping circuit this summer.
Voting closed at midnight on the 22nd May and the following three riders received the most votes and joined Eden-Maia and Freya on #teamlikit
Emily is a bright and bubbly young event rider from Somerset, with 3 fantastic horses at varying stages in their careers. We were particularly impressed that Emily already had an established following on her social media pages as well as a real passion for the Likit brand. All her fans clearly got behind her campaign and she made it onto the team via public votes.
A 16 year old rider who enjoys both showjumping and cross country with her two mounts; Yeti & Padmay. Yeti was saved from the meat market and has been a hugely successful pony with many successes in showjumping. Padmay will be starting her eventing career in June with her first BE Event, we look forward to watching this partnership grow in confidence and have no doubt they will be an excellent team.
Lucy is a local girl, living just one mile from the Likit factory so we were absolutely delighted to have found out about her through this competition and for her to be chosen by the public to join #teamlikit. Lucy (11) and her two ponies Monty & Sully compete in affiliated showjumping and have even jumped for Scotland on Junior teams!
We would like to thank everyone that has entered, voted, liked and shared our competition and hope that you have all enjoyed being part of our competition.
Each of the winners will receive a full Likit Kit including branded rug, saddlecloth and gilet plus £100 towards training and competition fees as well as a year's supply of Likits.
The seven finalists have not been forgotten and will receive a very special pack of Likit goodies and a branded saddlecloth to reward them for all their hard work, afterall they are all winners in our eyes for getting so far in this competition.
We also made sure that everyone entering the competition was rewarded with some Likit goodies so please don't be afraid of giving our competitions a go!
We were so delighted with this competition that we hope to expand and run similar competitions in other countries so keep your eyes peeled on our website, facebook and twitter for further details.
